self evalution revised

My interest deeply rooted in Japanese culture began in my junior high school. Since then, I have read much articles, listened to some music and saw much movie. Apart from learn the things from textbook, sometimes I read magazines. Moreover, I will make good use of every chance to talk with Japanese to improve my speaking ability and to understand Japanese better.
Although I am deeply interested in Japanese, I studied English as my major in senior high school years. The original reason to learn English at the school is only for my house is near, but during the process of studying it, I was gradually attracted by the western culture. And the teacher will push us to study, sometimes we have to remember near one hundred vocabulary. So I am also good at English.
I have much curiosity to a variety of knowledge. I like to learn new things in my leisure time. Although I’m major in language, I sometimes read the book about science or biology. The content in the books is not deep but the knowledge in it is very interesting and attractive. I think that I am a person with good temper. I am rarely unhappy and complain about others. And because of it, I can always be calm when I encountered most problems.

Autobiography- final

I want to pursue the career as a translator. To be a translator, I must have to sharpen my language ability. So, during the college life, I want to attain my goal step by step. And I think that your course and environment are perfect for me. It is not easy to be a translator, but I consider that if I can enter your college, I will have many opportunities to be well trained and make every effort to reach my goal step by step. I sincerely hope that I can be admitted to your university in order to realize my dream.

Future perspectives

My major was English, but I would like be admitted to the Japanese department of your university. I want to change my major, but I will still study it continuously. I hope that after I enter the department I can sharpen my Japanese and English ability. Although I took the Japanese course in senior high school, the course is fundamental. Via studying by myself, I made some progress, was able to talk with others and finally passed some exams. But I think that it is not enough, so I desire more opportunities to reinforce my ability. As for English, I hope that after entering the university, I can have time to schedule for studying English. Although my major was English in senior high school, I still can make some progress so that I can speak to people in English or Japanese fluently. And besides the progress of ability, I hope that I can be more extroverted, which caused me to be hard to make friends and not to make much progress on language because I am afraid of asking teachers or students to solve my question. I think that maybe I can reach my goal and fulfill my dream during the four years with the help from the professors and classmates.

self-evaluation

I am good at English. English was my major in senior high school. I learned it and practiced listening, speaking, reading and writing everyday. Sometimes we could also practice English conversation with our classmates. And there was a foreign teacher teaching us, it was interesting to hear him talking about their culture so that we could extend our view.
When I learned something I am interested in, I will be very enthusiastic, but I also never give up. I still keep them in an ordinary level. For example, I am interested in Japanese so I learn it everyday. However, I did not like math very much, but my math grades were not bad.
I think that I am a person processing things leisurely and calmly. I seldom fell into panic. One time, I lent my classmate my assignment, but he forgot to bring it to school tomorrow. I was actually angry, but I borrow the assignment from another classmate to copy instead   wasting time blaming him.

school life revise

I am a student of the Department of Applied Foreign Language, National Tainan Commercial Vocational Senior High School. I am an introverted person. The first day I came to my class, we should make an introduction of ourselves. When it was my turn, I stood the stage, but I couldn’t say any word. But, now, for the practice and train from classmates and teachers, I can give a speech on the stage. I didn’t just learn knowledge in the three year.

In the three years, I joined in some activities and learned something from them, such as the sport meet, the essay contest and the so on. During the sport meet, we got many awards. On the one hand, there were many people good at sport in our class. On the other hand, our teacher led us well so that we can learn how to be united. Another event making me gain lots of things was the essay contest. At first, I was not reluctant to attend it because I was not good at writing articles, but when I knew that I couldn’t escape from it, I decided to practice writing a good essay. Thanks to our teacher’s help, I kept practicing it and finally made an abundant progress in writing articles. Although I couldn’t get a prize in the contest, but I realized that if we can be insistent, we can gain something.

I like to learn new things. When I was a senior high school student, I was major in English and I also learn Japanese afterschool. I learned many things about Japan. The teacher teaching me was Japanese. There would be some conversations during the lesson. And from his words, I learned Japanese lives, habits, culture and so on. Because I did not have Japanese test, so the lessons were not be pressured. So I learned Japanese easily and I can make a easy conversation with Japanese now. Another extracurricular activity was reading novels. The words a good novelist used could bring me a lot of prospect. Reading novels was like setting foot in another world. I could get rid of the busy daily life for a shot period.   Although there is nothing exciting, the leisurely times are really precious for me.

family backgroud revise

I'm Tom. There are four members in my family, my parents, my younger brother and I. My father was short-tempered when I was an elementary school student. When he got angry, my younger brother and I were afraid of him. So I learned that we shouldn’t blow our stack easily and do my best to control my temper. As a result, I am temperate now. On the other hand, my father was annoyed with his temper, too. So he tried to change it, which is difficult for him, but he was effortful. Consequently, he is a nice man now. Due to his change, I thought that we can change ourselves if we make the efforts to do it. My mother is a careful housewife. Doing everything carefully and checking after doing is her habit. And her habit has some impact on me, so I always do carefully in some aspects. And my younger brother is a junior high school student who is always filled with energy. If he is in the house, the atmosphere will be very animated. Owing to him, I won’t be bored. I am lucky to have such a family.

school life

I am a person who is shy and introverted by nature. When I just came to the class, I knew no one, and I afraid of talking to others. But, fortunately, my classmates was friendly, they talked to me continuously, so I can naturally talk to them eventually. Now, I even can stand on stage giving a speech.

Everyone got along with one another in my class. As a result, our class is very united. In addition to union, we are effortful. For example, when the interclass volleyball games approached, we would practice together, so we finally got the good grades in the games. Moreover, we got the award “class of honor” and continue for four semesters.

I am major in English. In the three years in high school, I learn how to write a essay, how to read articles and so on. Although most of my time is spent on English, I still have other habits. For example, after school I come to learn Japanese. I like Japanese, so I even join the Japanese conversation club.

英文自傳2

My name is Fang. I am now 17 years old. I have an English name called Matthew. I am studying in a private high school. There are five people in my family. My father is a military officer and my mother is a housewife. Both of my younger brother and sister are studying in junior high school. You might think that my family is a traditional and stern family because of my father; on the contrary, it is the opposite. My father is open-minded and a person of sense of humor. I must say that I am lucky to have such a happy family.
My father certainly has great influence on me, and I always look up to him. His passion and dedication to his job and family are the best things he gives us. He never forces us to do things we do not like. He gives us freedom of choice. That is why I can join so many school activities and have the chance to develop my hobbies.
I have been very active in school activities. I am one of the so-called computer freaks who just cannot keep their eyes off the computer screen. My friends know I am good in computer. As long as their computers have troubles, they would turn to me. I am also a pitcher on the school baseball team. Our team has won many, many matches; thus, we gained an honorable title of “unbeatable team.” I believe this resulted from our constant practice, hard work and our strong team spirit.
Although using computer and playing baseball take up most of my leisure time, I manage to spare some spare time to play the electronic guitar in a band. I use computer to make many of our songs into MIDI files and forward to many of my friends. My friends love them and think they are awesome. Being able to combine my knowledge of computer and music is my proudest thing. Don't get me wrong. I didn't neglect my study. Unless my grades in school are OK, my parents will not let me go for all these.
I have been interested in computer since I was in the fifth grade. That was the time when father had his big computer on his desk. Every time I saw father's face with great concentration while using computer, I developed my admiration to it. I said to myself, “I want to be like him one day.”
I liked to play around with my father's computer. One day I accidentally deleted one of my father's important files. I was so scared that my father would be furious with me. However, it was not the case. My father gave me a gift instead of punishment. I was so surprised. Guess what? Yes, I got a new computer. Ever since then, I have been addicted to computers, especially after the emerging of the Internet. Surfing the net has been one of my greatest hobbies.
The e-commerce has changed our traditional lifestyle. Take myself as an example, I keep in touch with my friends through e-mail messages, I send my greetings through e-cards, I buy books from e-bookstores, I shop from many websites and I search information from the searching engine.
Beyond doubt, the importance of the e-era has brought most powerful revolution to the business world. Banks and stock market transaction through the net, business to business direct transaction through the net and the space and time limitation no longer exist. I am fascinated with the new change and eager to take part in it. So I have decided to study in Computer and Information Science. I want to be a professional computer programmer who creates and designs the software to meet the needs of people in e-era.

英文自傳1

I am Lin. Sophia is my English name. I am 18 years old, studying in a public high school. I come from a very happy middle-class family. My father works in a bank and my mother works in a bookstore. I am the only child in the family; however, I am not the so-called spoiled child. My parents have trained me to be independent since I was a child.
Throughout my academic years, I not only get good grades but also am very active on sport field and involved in school club activities. I play volleyball and enjoy the team spirit we have. I have joined the drama club and participated in many English speech contests. I really enjoy participating in school activities; I not only make many friends and have lots of fun but also gain many different valuable experiences.
I had been the class English assistant for almost three years. I liked to discuss and share the experience of learning English with people a lot. We often read China Post and Time Magazine then discussed their contents, the word usages and practice speaking English by discussing the articles we read. In the beginning, we found it hard because we could rarely understand the content, but we encouraged each other not to give up. Gradually, we had made improvement. We were so excited. Then the group discussion of English books and magazines became one of the most enjoyable thing for us to do every week. I won the first prize in the school English speech contest in my second year of high school and many of my English articles had been put on Students Post.
My fondness for English has been developed since my childhood. It is lonely to be the only child. I had no one to play with when I was a kid. My mother knew about this so she brought me with her all the time. Hence, bookstores became my childhood playground and books have been my playmates. Mother would show me those fancy books with cute illustrations on them. Firstly drawn by the pictures, I was curious about these strange symbols called “words.” This was my first contact with English. As I was interested in knowing what those symbol mean, my parents taught me a bit. As they felt that I was eager to learn, they got me an English tutor. Thanks to my parents, I have advantages in learning English by starting at a really early age.
My interest in English brought me to the world of English literature. I have been enchanted by this creative world, so I decide to major in English literature. My aim is to explore the world of literature and the world of great writers, opening my eyes and cultivating my mind through this great world of literature.
Besides English literature, I also have a wide range of hobbies. I love reading, writing, music and movies. I have my active side as well. I enjoy swimming, hiking, traveling and getting close to Nature a lot. I believe we must achieve a sense of balance in our lives. As to my personality, I am creative, optimistic, determined, willing to help others and down to earth.
I want to be one of the literature students who has the privilege of studying great writers’ works and exploring their inner worlds, their outlook of lives, their roles as learned scholars and their influences on the world. I hope I can also make some contribution to the awareness of culture and literature in our society since its importance has been neglected.

Best of the Semester 3

I oppose using nuclear power to solve the energy crisis. First, because nuclear power plant will release its heat to the sea around it, so the temperature of sea water around the nuclear power plant will rise so that there will be a coral bleaching. Second, unlike water and wind, nuclear power isn't natural and it isn't renewable energy. It is bad to our environment. Finally, should a nature disaster such as an earthquake or tsunami and so on taken place, nuclear plant would have a lot of damages. The surroundings will be deeply polluted. To sum up, I think that it is not true that using nuclear power to solve the energy crisis. It has many flaws and bad influence on the environment.

I think that students should wear uniform to school. First, everyone wears same costumes so that no one has to worry about what to wear or how to dress up. It won’t bother students. Also, if I were a guest and I went to the school and saw that every one wears uniform, I would think the school is in order rather in a mess. Finally, if you got into trouble after school and you wore uniform then, the teachers or instructors in your school could recognize you in no time and help you. In conclusion, although the uniforms aren’t more beautiful than our clothes, it has many benefits our clothes doesn’t has, so I think it is not bad to wear uniforms.

I would hire Lynn for this job for the following reasons. First, although she has less education about English than Debra, she still had been an English instructor once, so I think she has enough professional knowledge to take this job. Second, although her experience is less than Debra, I think that it is enough, too. Third, she is influent in more language than Debra, so I consider her to be a person of many capabilities and passion to learn new things. Finally, she had got the Excellence in Teaching Award, but Debra hadn’t. So, I think that she can teach better than Debra and that she knows how to make students study more. To sum up, maybe Debra knew more than Lynn, but, in addition to professional knowledge, teaching is of central importance, too. So, I chose Lynn to be the English Instructor.

First, Michael's music store is not very far from the two large music stores, so the two store will share the guests with the music store. As a result, the store's guests and income will decrease. Second, most of the CDs were hip-hop and rock. The kinds are too few for guests to select. And, that will decrease the guests' willingness of come to the store, too. First, we hardly have chances to barbecue, but in the day we can barbecue without worry. And, what is better, when we barbecue, we can watch the clear and bright moon. Besides, we can get together with some relatives, then, I can chat with them that we have not seen for a long time.Thirdly, we can play firework crazily like a child in the night. The firework are so beautiful and splendid that it can catch all our eyes. Last but not least, on the Moon Festival, we can pass a leisure day and have fun. To sum up, my favorite holiday is Moon Festival, and it is also worthy of being expected this year.

If you want to leave Visitor Center for Free Quaker Meeting House, you should follow the directions. First, go north for one block from the Visitor Center. Then, turn left on
Market Street
and go for two blocks. Then you can see Free Quaker Meeting House is on your right.

Explaining a Process-2

There is a simple experience we can do to prove that black is a better collector of solar energy than white. Before the experience, we should prepare two tin cans, black and white paint and a room thermometer. After finishing preparing these things, we can begin our plan. First, Paint one can black and another white. Second, fill the can with water. Third, put the cans in direct sunlight for three hours. Finally, check the temperature of the water in the cans and compare. After doing the steps, we can find that the temperature of the water in the black can is higher.

Explaining a Process-1

It is easy to pot a plant if you follow the right procedure. First, cover bottom of pot with small stones. Second, put two inches of soil on top of rocks. Third, make a hole in center of soil. Then, drop plant into soil. After that, add soil until it almost reaches top of pot. Next, press soil down with thumbs. Finally, water plant. And you’ll see that the plant’s growth.

The most frightened experience(revised)

That was a fine and warm day. I went to park to take a walk. There were many people with pets such as cats, dogs and squirrels. Because of these little animals' presences, there were many terrible disasters happening to me. Firstly, the ground were covered with the little animals' piss and shit. Whole park was smelly. I could bear the smell, so it was not a problem. However, the shit stuck to the bottom of my shoes. Secondly, when I was jogging, the little animals would rushed out from the bush. I nearly kicked them for many times. If I kicked them, I would become not only guilt but also a person who was thought to like to torture animals. It was a worst situation. Thirdly, some people carrying pets did not grasp them tightly. As a result, they would run after the passers-by such as me. Then, I round half of the park. Lastly, the little animals liked to shout at the innocent people. When they shouted, the people riding a motorcycle or a bicycle would be frightened to death. And, due to their beautiful yell, I nearly hit by a motorcycle on the side of a road that day. Little animals are so dangerous that I have no choice but to fear them.

a voluntary experience(revised)

I once lived in Taipei, and worked as a volunteer in a hospital. It really felt good to get the opportunities to help people. One morning an elderly woman with a basket filled with fruit was seen by me standing in front of a room with her face looking tired. I knew the woman. She was strange because her legs were damaged but she still insists on walking upstairs. In the room lived a teenager.  In an accident, In order to help his grandmother, he had his legs broken. I walked up to her and asked her what I could do for her. She smiled exhaustedly at me and asked me to send the fruit to the teenagers, and then we heard some voice in the room. The teenager wanted to go out and was using the wheelchair. I want the teenager to thank this woman visiting him constantly. But, as soon as the voice was close to the door, the elderly woman left nervously with her legs lamely walking. The teenager opened the door and asked me to take a walk with him, we went downstairs with elevator. So, we missed the woman. It is pity that the teenager didn't meet the old women who came to visit him many times. The old women was really great. I'm glad that I could see the brightness in people's heart.
